A few years ago, we visited a little fishing village called Bugøynes in Northern Norway. That’s where we came across this lamp post, standing on the shore of the Arctic Sea.
It must have stood there for quite a few years already, weathering all kinds of storms and protecting daring swimmers from tripping over and hitting their nose in the sand.
The idea of this little source of light at one of the furthest edges of the world is somehow consoling – and inspiring, too. That’s how these northern-most corners of the world came to serve as the inspiration for the visual look of our website and the name of our little family business.
We try go back to Bugøynes every summer, and if we’re feeling particularly courageous, we dip our toes in the ice cold Arctic Sea (running frantically straight into the water from a wooden-heated sauna that’s right on the beach and then just as frantically back).
